Business Development: Glossy Paradise

Glossy Paradise is a natural beauty oil company that sources its ingredients from the Amazon Rainforest in Peru. I traveled to the Amazon Rainforest on multiple occasions to learn about natural medicinal plants and how they can be used in skincare by the locals. I partnered with an Iquitos based non-profit to begin sourcing a superfruit oil called Aguaje from a small community in the remote Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. After extensive researching and sourcing, I developed the brand Glossy Paradise, with the mission to use natural superfood products to enhance natural beauty. A fundamental purpose of this project is the partnership with the 20 de Enero community in the Amazon, in order to help create a sustainable business for the community through Aguaje harvesting. Due to the pandemic, Glossy Paradise had to temporarily close down, but will soon receive a re-brand and it will be back in business by the end of 2023. In the few years of business, Glossy Paradise was stocked in a number of storefronts and online stores, as well as received features on online publications. Urban Outfitters took notice and asked for a product sample, however the project could not see through due to the pandemic.
